Pinto updated the service concept and interior design of the beloved classic Strindberg café. The fresh renovation now attracts younger clientele and brings about new loyal customers, without forgetting the existing ones. The impressive centre counter creates natural customer flows and acts as an attraction already from the street. The unique spatial solutions make this interior both fascinating and respected.
The personalized and unique floor tiling, emphasis on the roof ponds with Art Deco wallpaper, and retouched precious wall panels create a strong recognizable base for Strindberg café. The entity was implemented with the spirit of Strindberg and respecting the building's architecture. There exists a natural dialogue between the café and upstairs restaurant through the solutions of both colours and materials.
The restaurant
Pinto designed and implemented a beautifully fitting expansion for the prestigious Helsinki restaurant Strindberg. The existing restaurant space was not desired to be changed, but also not fully imitating this look in the new wing.
The restaurant expansion was created as a new room of its own. The rustic style that is characteristic of Restaurant Strindberg continues also in the additional wing and in the new cabinet space. The colour scheme of the addition beautifully complements the restaurant. For the furniture and decoration choices, unique pieces were sought from antique shops as well as flea markets and material selections, using genuine, natural materials. The result is a valuable and interesting expansion that meets Strindberg's style, serving the restaurant's customers in an even more diverse way.
